Each one of these gorgeous dresses was handmade in Kolkata, India by women rescued out of exploitation. They are 100% Indian cotton fabric, made with handblock printing in Jaipur, India. Handblock printing is an Indian traditional printing skill by artisans, using crafted wooden pieces. The fabric is lightweight and flowy.
Note: These dresses run a bit tight in the chest area, so size up as needed.

Find out More about our Indian Project
In Eastern India, each of our products begins with a story of hope. The women who make these pieces have come out of tough, at-risk situations.
Now, they’re finding hope through meaningful work—sewing bags, dresses, and more by hand. The fabrics come from Jaipur, using traditional hand-block printing methods. As the women sew, they add their own personal touch to every item—no two are exactly the same.
This work gives them more than just an income. It gives them a safe place to work, a sense of dignity, and the chance to provide for themselves and their families.

The Story of Hope's Gate
Hope’s Gate was founded in 2011 after Patty Bauman traveled to India and witnessed the heartbreaking realities faced by orphans, street children, and survivors of human trafficking. Moved to act, she partnered with shelters and safe houses, launching a jewelry initiative to create sustainable change.
What began with humble materials has grown into a powerful mission—empowering vulnerable individuals through skill development, dignified work, and the creation of beautiful, handcrafted products. Every piece tells a story of hope, resilience, and transformation.
